Conditions We Treat

Diabetic Foot Ulcers

Open sores that develop in people with diabetes, often on the bottom of the foot. They result from poor circulation and nerve damage (neuropathy) and can lead to infection or even amputation if untreated. Early detection and specialized wound care are critical.

Venous Leg Ulcers

Also called venous stasis ulcers, these wounds occur when faulty leg veins cause blood to pool, increasing pressure and damaging skin. They are often shallow, irregularly shaped, and slow to heal. Compression therapy and wound care are key treatments.

Arterial Ulcers

Painful wounds caused by poor blood flow through narrowed or blocked arteries. They typically appear on toes, heels, or pressure points and have a “punched-out” look with pale or black tissue. Restoring circulation is essential for healing.

Pressure Ulcers (Bed Sores)

Injuries to skin and underlying tissue caused by prolonged pressure, friction, or shear—common in people with limited mobility. They range from red, irritated skin to deep wounds exposing bone. Prevention through repositioning and skin care is vital.

Surgical Wounds

Incisions made during surgery that require careful monitoring to prevent infection. While most heal without issue, some may reopen or become infected, requiring specialized wound management.

Traumatic Wounds

Injuries caused by accidents, falls, or violence, including cuts, lacerations, punctures, or crush injuries. Severity varies widely, and treatment focuses on controlling bleeding, preventing infection, and supporting healing.

Wound Infections

Occur when bacteria enter a wound, leading to redness, swelling, warmth, pain, and sometimes pus or fever. Prompt treatment with cleaning, dressings, and sometimes antibiotics is necessary to prevent complications.

Skin Tears

Common in older adults with fragile skin, these are acute wounds where skin layers separate, often leaving a flap. They can be painful and prone to infection but usually heal with gentle cleansing and protective dressings.

Lymphedema Management

Chronic swelling caused by lymphatic system damage or blockage, often after cancer treatment or surgery. Management includes compression, exercise, massage, and skin care to reduce swelling and prevent infection.
